Fortis Glass Ionomer Aesthetic Restorative from Precision Dental is a high-strength, general-purpose direct restorative. It’s an enhanced glass ionomer filling material developed for minimal intervention dentistry, and it’s ideal for posterior situations where aesthetics matter.
As a water-mix glass ionomer, Fortis needs only water to mix, with no separate liquid to buy or store. It adheres chemically to tooth structure, so there’s no need to etch or bond, which saves time and simplifies the procedure. Its packable consistency makes it easy to place and condense, and its excellent biocompatibility means minimal pulpal reaction.
Fortis has superb translucency and a natural aesthetic match to tooth structure. A fluorescent additive mimics the natural fluorescence of enamel, so restorations look natural under different lighting. High compressive strength and low solubility give durable, long-lasting restorations. The material is radiopaque, so restorations show clearly on patient X-rays.
Fortis is versatile across adult, paediatric and geriatric dentistry. It’s suitable for the ART technique, deciduous teeth and intermediate restorations, as well as base and lining. Each pack contains 15g of powder, which is 50% more material than the leading brand. Fortis is manufactured in the UK.
